Taking a break is not the same as escaping responsibility. Keeping quiet is not the same as having nothing to share. In fact, the more we look inside, the more we listen to the silence, the more enriching it is.

We have become accustomed to using photography way more brother than before. We use it not only to create and record memories, but also as a note taker or research tool.
However photography is still an art form, a way to express yourself creatively that, in my humble opinion and proven experience, can help you with your mental health and body acceptance. Visuals born in a black box by the dance of the light inside - how more magical this could be?
Even I, who is professionally dedicated to the craft, often forget the power it has. The ability to capture a subject in a way that it appears, or to freeze a moment forever in time. Despite its mechanical side (which I sometimes dislike), photography has given me a space to express emotions, to heal wounds and to create without restrictions.
Next time you pick up the phone to use the camera for whatever reason, stop and think what other photo you can take that would be full of meaning. Repeat this 10 times and you might end up with a little collection that can cherish for years to come.
By will or by force? And why so often we wait for the force, even though we’ve had the desire much earlier?
It’s interesting how our own mind can sabotage us, it’s just trying to protect us and keep us safe. Even more when it has some kind of underlined trauma, It can trick us in thinking that the familiar bad is better than the unknown good. And here we are - facing the paradox.

There are time when we don’t feel like appearing on photographs. Reasons vary form not feeling dressed up appropriately to not feeling good in or own skin. Yet the moments never repeat and sometimes such simple refusal can costs us a regret for a life time.
I know perfectly well the feeling of wanting to escape my own skin. I’ve done hiding from photographs for all kind of reasons and appearing to such just to record the moment. Both led me to the conclusion - life doesn’t stop for anyone so better a bad photo with the loved ones, that no photo to remind us the moment.
It all comes down to this - what do you want to remember and with who? The value of a photograph is not the perfect exposure or perfect model body positioned well. Sometimes the most important photographs are blurry, not exposed correctly or randomly summarising a situation using part of people and weird objects.
Social media has turned photography into a daily competition for the most exciting, rich life of the wannabe entrepreneur who made it in his 30s. Yet the value remains in a simple, genuine photograph at your grandparents village house eating vegetables from the garden in a hot summer day dressed up in the most basic outfit covered with dust of soil.
Let it flow. Trust. Allow. Accept the change and move accordingly. Learn to dance under the rhythm of life.
The clarity of the calmness, leaving things get arranged in a natural way. We’re just actors in this human life, here to play the role we’ve selected, contributing our part, but also allowing the mighty scenario of Life to expand and manage it all.
Being strong, having the resilience to go through hard moments in life is great, but turns harmful if we don’t know when to stop to take a breath. It’s useless if we don’t know how to lower the guard down when the storm is over.
Life is a duality, we’re both sides of the Yin and Yang. As such all we’re required to do is keep managing the balance and adjust accordingly.
